Summary:-All travel locks are overpriced for what they are, but this one is a great lock so you might as well get this oneTSA locks are a pain in the butt. Half the time, TSA doesn’t care enough to unlock it and will just cut it off, so being TSA compliant doesn’t matter most of the time. With that out of the way, what you want is a sturdy lock that is easy to access and that you won’t lose the key for – a combination lock, therefore, is preferable (in my humble opinion). I really appreciate that it has a flexible cable lock as well, because that means you can easily flex it around and lock all sorts of things together in a very flexible way; it is also super thing so you can even thread it through zippers.Ultimately, it’s a bit pricey, but anything under $10 is a trash lock, and once you get past that price point, you should throw down for a reliable lock that you can’t ever get locked out of, and this is the answer. I fully recommend it.

It works i guess. I used a fork to press the B button while choosing my numbers. I appreciate the comments that are other people wrote, apparently if the TSA Opens this, then it cannot be used anymore cause they do not close it back again. My strategy is to open this before baggage check and just close it back. I am not planning to use it on checked in bags. For sure the tsa will destroy it just like they dropped my camera.

Let me know if you like my review. This will encourage me to continue writing and updating my reviews, and leave a comment if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer if I can be of help :)Very easy to set the combination and fit our filmgear pelicases very well. They withstand the rigours of travel – US and international – very well and I’ve never had one lost thru handling anywhere in the world. Sadly, TSA are not so rigorous at fitting them back on a case after checking – and they check our bags all the time. So I have to travel with several spares, preset to the combination. The red color stands out well and makes the padlock easier to find in a cramped hotel room during packing, when all the gear is scattered around the floor. In the past I’ve had types with rigid locks instead of this flexible cable type – they got knocked off the cases almost every trip – these ones can take a hit and have a little ‘give’ so withstand baggage handling much better. We travel every couple of weeks – so these have had a pretty good field test – most recently in Germany, Sweden, England, Spain, Denmark and Italy. No problems with security there either – so don’t be put off for international travel where foreign versions of TSA don’t have the access key.FEATURES:* Suggested uses, luggage, backpacks, bags, small cabinets, briefcases, computer bags, for indoor use only* 1-1/8-inch metal body* Set your own combination convenience* Bright colors simplify baggage identification

Great product and eases stress of any checked luggage…TSA locks so they can unlock w/ their TSA key only…safe safe safe…also used for any checked weapons hard case…highly recommend. This use was for Ship Skis, snowboard but will be using for Ship Sticks also, golf clubs and any other bags checked for travel which is few and far between but great to have…shipped fast-same day. PERFECT

We bought two of these, one for my wife, and one for my suitcase for a cruise we recently went on. They survived the trip, and worked great.Unfortunately, many suitcase designers forget that folks might like to lock their luggage, and for some reason do not use those zipper heads that have the built-in lock clip. Our suitcases are lacking those zipper heads, so we have to run the lock through the zipper handle. And with our suitcases, we have 3 compartments that need to be locked. One compartment is locked with a standard luggage lock, as we can put the lock under a strap to protect the zipper handles from damage should they bang up against anything (the suitcases are High Sierra duffels). However, the other two zippered compartments, when using standard locks, didn’t fit the zipper handles well (they looked to be fancy designer zippers), so they resulted in the handles sticking out – which said to me – I am waiting to be broken. The solution we found was to use one of these locks. We could thread the lock’s cable through both sets of zipper handles, and lock them without any of the handles sticking out (the zippers were close enough at one spot on the luggage to do this). The cable for the lock is about 3.5″ long, and the head of the cable is small enough that it will fit through most zipper heads.

I’ve used this lock for years and recently bought to new ones for family members. The locks are very easy to set (I don’t understand the concerns raised in other reviews) and they provide a great deterrent for the casual thief. The lock body is all metal and the shackle is multi-strand metal wire coated in plastic. My only complaint is the numbers are a bit hard to read…. it may be my eyes though since its the same size as the lock I’ve used for years. See attached photo (the blue locks are new as of July 2018). The black lock I’ve had for years.

I traveled to China with this lock on my luggage and it worked exactly how I expected it to. If you are like me, you want to lock you luggage to know that it was not tampered with when you leave it with the flight crew, or leave it all day in a hotel when the cleaners come in. This lock is perfect for those reasons, and it opens and closes quickly and easily. No one expects to buy a luggage lock that cannot be broken, right? Anyone who wants to get into your luggage will just as easily brake the zipper before breaking the lock. I really want a simple way of knowing if someone went into my luggage without permission. That way I can hold the airport or the hotel accountable if it occurred while in their possession. And this lock is perfect for those needs. Plus it was very easy to lock and unlock with no need for holding onto a key. Very good lock. Also it is TSA certified which if you do not know what that means I suggest visiting their site by googling tsa locks; and it is the link that says – TSA: AIR TRAVELPlease let me know if this was a helpful review for you!

I originally ordered a couple of these as a test to see if I liked them better than some older TSA approved luggage locks we had. We now own 11 of these and use them on all our luggage, so that should tell you something.Setup is a breeze. When you receive the locks the combination will be set to 0,0,0. You then unlock the lock, push and hold in a button on the bottom of the lock while setting a new combination, release the button……boom…..you’re done setting the lock up.The build quality is really nice and we have yet to have a lock with a problem. The older locks we had were bad about getting stuck either locked or unlocked. These don’t have that issue and have been great during several trips. I highly recommend them.

The Master Lock 4688D TSA Combination Lock is my go to for locking my zippers on my bags when travelling. The lock is extremely easy to use and set up. Also the fact that it only has 3 tumblers and no external buttons means that it is simple unlock and reduces the amount of parts that can potentially break. To unlock, simply align the tumblers with the white dots on the front of the lock and slide the cable to release it! I love the flexible cable as it is thin and can easily be weaved between a few zipper pulls to secure up to 2 pairs of zippers. I will often do this with laptop bags/backpacks where sets of zippers are adjacent to one another. I definitely prefer the cable design versus the traditional hard U” shaped shackle. I give this product 5 stars and can’t recommend it enough!

I am 3 years late on this review, but this lock is worth its weight in gold. I keep this lock on my Kelty 40 L Women’s bag (also purchased on Amazon) and it is great! The lock is definitely a good idea when traveling through Central America or Africa…heck, I even felt more secure with it on my bag in large airports here in the U.S. Just one less thing to worry about. I typically use two of these to secure the easy to reach pockets that I keep all of my electronic gadgets such as tablet, laptop, camera etc.
